In this episode of Talkin' Shift, we’re going through everything that went down at TX2K26, from the record-setting passes to the biggest moments that we saw throughout the week. Between the first-ever 5-second run in TX2K history, 200+ MPH roll racing, and some wild upsets across multiple classes, this year was one we'll remember for a long time.

We sat down with ThatDudeinBlue (David Patterson) — a car enthusiast and YouTuber who’s reviewed over 1,000 cars and built a massive presence in automotive media since the early days of YouTube. We dive into how his channel got started, the ups and downs of growing on the platform, and the shifts he’s made in content over the years. David shares behind-the-scenes stories about some of his wildest reviews, the challenges that came with evolving his style, and what he’s focused on heading into 2026.

We’re back in the studio breaking down everything that went down at Sick Week 2026. From the record cold Florida temps to the cars that surprised us most, we go through how the week unfolded from Day 0 to the final pass in Gainesville. We talk about who took home class wins, which builds impressed us the most, and the struggles teams faced along the way — from mechanical setbacks to weather delays and everything in between. We're proud to say we've published 20 episodes on our Talkin' Shift Podcast, and we're happy to have Jim Neuenfeldt (AKA Parish) on to mark the milestone. Parish is a big time OG on the 1320video Youtube channel - going back 20 years. He was widely known in the midwest for his 10 second sleeper Silverado that had twin turbos before it was cool, and could gap nearly everything on the streets.

This week on Talkin’ Shift, we’re joined by Scott Woodruff from the IHRA to break down everything they’ve had going on lately — and it’s a lot. We talk about IHRA’s recent push into track ownership (including deals for multiple well-known facilities) and what that means for racers, fans, and the future of the sport. We also get into how IHRA has been expanding what they’re involved with, including the growth of their pro-level programming like the Outlaw Nitro Series, and how they’re trying to build a bigger pipeline that supports everything from big-show racing down to grassroots bracket programs.

For the first time ever, we took Talkin’ Shift on the road and set up shop at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Our guest is Victor Alvarez, co-owner of BMP (alongside Cleetus McFarland) and someone who’s been deeply involved in motorsports from a young age. We talk about Vic’s racing background, how he ended up buying a drag strip in his 20s, and what it’s really like owning and operating one of the most well-known tracks in the country. Of course, we also get into the Christmas Tree Drags — including some friendly debate about Vic “cheating” — and plenty of stories you don’t usually hear from the track owner’s side.

We talk about what it’s really like running a drag strip in Alaska — from the unreal mountain views to the short racing season, weather challenges, logistics, and how it all compares to tracks in the lower 48. Michelle breaks down what makes Alaska racing unique and what it takes to keep the scene alive that far north.
